The speed of most mechanical equipment is not low. For grease-lubricated parts, grease can lead to increased heat, increased resistance and premature failure of motor bearings. Through the correct selection of grease, these problems can be better solved and the incidence of failure can be reduced. When choosing grease, it is necessary to adjust it according to the working environment, working temperature, load and other conditions of the motor bearing.
1. Working environment
Generally refers to the minimum and maximum temperature of the working environment, air humidity, whether it contains corrosive gases or more dust. For example, when used outdoors in cold areas, lithium-based low-temperature grease should be selected. Calcium base grease should be selected in the case of high humidity and more moisture. In dry, less moisture occasions, suitable for choosing water-soluble sodium-based grease.
2. Working temperature
One is the lowest temperature of the use environment, and the other is the highest temperature that may occur in operation. When the operating temperature is higher, the high temperature grease with higher drop point should be selected. The actual maximum operating temperature should be 10-20 ° C lower than the grease drop point (synthetic grease should be 20-30 ° C).
3. Load condition
For heavy loads, grease with smaller cone penetration should be selected. When working under high pressure, in addition to requiring small cone penetration, it also requires high oil film strength and extrusion performance.
Sealed bearings have been filled with appropriate grease at the time of production, and generally no additional grease is required. The open motor bearing, although the sealing device may be set up during installation to prevent the leakage of grease, the grease/oil will still be gradually reduced due to a small amount of leakage and other reasons in use, and it needs to be constantly supplemented.
